Full Job Description

As an Engagement Manager (Stakeholder and External Affairs) this role is responsible for building and strengthening London Gatwick relationships with external parties and key stakeholders to help develop Gatwick's reputation. Responsible for supporting public consultations, creating a positive and supportive environment with stakeholders to enable the delivery of London Gatwick growth plans. Working to develop greater understanding and advocacy with stakeholders to add value and delivers against our future Decade of Change strategy.,

  • Proactive stakeholder engagement: develop and execute engagement and communications strategies and plans across Gatwick's external stakeholders.
  • Planning and delivering public consultations, working with 3 rd parties and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the consultations
  • Lead/manage Gatwick input to key statutory forums. Manage project specific community consultation and research projects as required.
  • Communications: Understand stakeholder priorities, work to develop positive narrative and communicate proactively to generate public interest where appropriate.
  • Drive accurate measurement of impact and benchmarking across all activity.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to leverage additional value from Gatwick's community investments and develop on regional employment and skills engagement strategy

    Experience in engaging and communicating with diverse range of external stakeholders at all levels, including influencing skills and resilience in the face of challenge.
  • Experience successfully planning and delivering public consultations, working with 3 rd parties and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the consultations
  • A good command of English, and ability to write professional letters, emails, engaging copy and formal reports.
  • Experience and confidence in representing the business externally at meetings and events
  • Experience and confidence in delivering presentations, tailoring these to the relevant audiences
  • Experience in successful partnership working
  • Proven planning and project management experience with organisation and coordination skills and good attention to detail
  • Some experience of planning and delivering public consultations would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of the demographics and characteristics of the local area (Sussex, Surrey, Kent) and the key challenges in relation to Gatwick's role in the region would be beneficial.
