Full Job Description

We are looking for an Engagement Worker to join our team in Brixton. You will support residents as part of the OPD HASS pathway (Offender Personality Disorder Housing Accommodation and Support Services). As an Engagement Worker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting high - risk individuals within the criminal justice system who meet the criteria for personality disorders. You will work closely with individuals to provide tailored support that promotes recovery, rehabilitation, and reablement, enabling them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations. Your role will include developing and contributing to support plans, conducting welfare and risk assessments, and facilitating access to the right tools and networks for each individual. This position is part of the OPD Pathway, which is jointly commissioned by HMPPS and NHS England, and managed by Penrose. HerStory House provides specialist accommodation and intensive support to women with complex and considered high risk needs. The objective is to help the women overcome barriers to resettlement. The role is essential in ensuring the successful resettlement of these high-risk individuals, aiding their transition to independent living, and reducing the likelihood of reoffending. Through dedicated support and a psychologically informed approach, this position contributes to the overall safety and well-being of both the residents and the wider community.   • Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good
  • Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.

  • Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders

  • Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for residents/participants and liaising with other professionals
  • Experience in providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role
  • Appropriate professional qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Psychology/Community Justice or professional equivalent
