Engineer - Activity Management Planner - We are currently seeking a highly skilled andmotivated individual to join a premier team of Engineer - Activity Management Planner at the48th Civil Engineer Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath, United KingdomWe are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in being responsible to ensure theinventory of built and network assets reflects a sufficient level of detail to manage condition andevaluate repair/replacement recommendations using sound technical knowledge of built assetsand its data. The post holder will conduct/support staff assistance visits along with inspection andcompliance visits and independently conducts quality assurance reviews.Why RAF Lakenheath:Located in the heart of Suffolk, RAF Lakenheath is home to the 48th Civil Engineer Squadron.This base is pivotal in maintaining international security and fostering strong alliances betweenthe US and UK. Our team is dedicated to excellence, innovation, and the highest standards ofoperational readiness., You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Activity Management Planactions in the Operations Flight Optimization Section. In this role you will provide input for thedevelopment and execution of the squadron's budget, and preparation of Planning,Programming, and Budgeting System documentation in support of engineering planning andprojects. You will be responsible for managing facility, utilities, and infrastructure condition reportsand the associated data in the applicable work management and Sustainment ManagementSystems. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid CATB driver's license may be required for the position. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours perweek on a fixed schedule Mon-Fri where start & end times may be modified due to missionneeds and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.
In this role you will have knowledge of engineering and/or Asset planning principles, methods,and Air Force investment processes for the development of a composite installation and publiccomplex; Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; common businessand economic principles, theories, concepts, and procedures; financial management principlesand standards; and the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting System (PPBS); Knowledge ofsafety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Youwill have the ability to plan, conduct, and record site/facility surveys and inspections; research,analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and torecommend timely and economical solutions; Ability to analyze and plan the work to meetprogram requirements and objectives with available resources; Ability to communicateeffectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities, includingfederal and local government, and industry.,
- You must have a bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Engineering, Architect, General, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineer) together with specialized experience
- OR a combination of education (HNC/HND, City &Guilds, NVQ Level 4 or above) in an appropriate discipline to the position (e.g. Engineering, General, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineer, Project Management), together with a minimum of three years' work experience in the trade.Other significant facts about the role:You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicableUS and UK laws, rules and regulations. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilianaircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance ofofficial duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. Overtime may be required, andyou may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriateto the grade and skill set of the incumbent. You must be able to communicate effectively bothorally and in writing. May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Forceduring exercises or in the event of an actual emergency. Inspections may be conducted in "hardhat"areas and may require walking, bending, climbing, and stooping. Appropriate professionalregistration/certification is desired but not required.All successful applicants will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.
