Full Job Description
We are seeking an Engineer to support a busy team ensuring highway development throughout Hampshire is safe and built to suitable standards.
In this role you work with a team of Engineers and Technicians, reviewing the completion and adoption of a wide range of developer-led projects, including residential, retail, industrial and other highway developments throughout Hampshire.
Working to the Senior Engineer you will be responsible for checking Developers / Consultants' S278 & S38 schemes are suitable for adoption and future maintenance by Hampshire County Council as Highway Authority.
Key to your role will be the reviewing of S278 / S38 schemes due for adoption, compliance with legal agreements, fee monitoring and management of the adoption process.
You will undertake site inspections and liaise with the Developers and their Consultants / Contractors playing a key role in ensuring the integrity of the works to be adopted., We are a Disability Confident Employer - committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.
You will be a conscientious, enthusiastic and highly motivated person who is reliable, keen to learn and hard-working. You will have the ability to manage and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with good IT skills.
You should also have a thorough understanding of the relevant design standards and the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the role.
