Full Job Description

Engineering is the department that keeps everything working perfectly at The Ned. This isn't always easy, as our building was designed as a bank, and it isn't your traditional hotel. We're responsible for making The Ned an unbeatable experience for our members, guests, customers, and team members and ensuring that attention to detail is second to none. As the Engineering Co-ordinator you will be the organisational powerhouse behind the scenes, planning and guiding our engineering teams to prioritise and complete building and equipment maintenance to keep The Ned looking it's best and the operation running smoothly - making every guest experience appear seamless and effortless.

  • It goes without saying that your organisational skills will be second to none, you'll be the hidden hero keeping many moving parts in sync with each other
  • Your communication skills will also be outstanding, you'll use written, phone, and face to face communication to make sure everyone knows what they need to contribute to the bigger picture
  • This is a high pressure role, so an ability to stay calm and inspire confidence in others is needed, paired with the ability to pivot problem solve, and re-plan when things inevitably change on occasion

    The Ned and Ned's Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time. The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned's Club - a private members' space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a whole floor of event spaces, ten restaurants and bars and 250 hotel bedrooms. Reporting into the Engineering management team, you will:
  • Plan and prioritise the demanding jobs of the engineering team, keeping the operation ticking over and minimising disruptions
  • You'll need to balance the reactive jobs with the preventative and upkeep jobs
  • Communicate efficiently within the team and across departments - the engineering team supports the entire business so keeping people in the loop about their requested jobs is essential
  • Support the engineers in keeping our job management software, Knowcross, up to date and being used to maximise efficency
  • Keep records and logs up to date, you'll make sure we're always audit ready and compliant
