Full Job Description

Our business is responsible for the largest independent nuclear laboratories in the UK, delivering projects from consultancy, assurance and regulation, through to test rigs and prototypes. Our Engineering Development (ED) business delivers client-focused technological solutions to the most complex engineering challenges. Our breadth of capability, coupled with our facilities, enables us to bring the latest thinking and technology to market. We act as the integrator for these technologies; optimising solutions and ensuring that they can be deployed in challenging environments, while our core capabilities focus on experimental rig design and build, testing, robotics and remote operations. We are currently looking to recruit a Team leader with line management responsibility to manage team members to support delivery of designs for our internal and external clients. You will liaise closely with the Operations Manager to discuss the needs and issues of the team, including; support, development, training, utilisation, and performance. You will also be responsible for:

  • Effectively managing internal and external client relationships to ensure projects are executed safely within time, cost, and quality and to the customer requirements.
  • Develop, Manage, and lead improvements with support from the Operations Manager to create improved ways of working through collaboration and maximising efficiency.
  • Managing and engaging with stakeholders, building effective relationships, and developing a good understanding of their needs, and ensuring effective communication.
  • Preparation of forward work forecasts and capability requirements within the team.
  • An active member of ED to drive, support and demonstrate value, maximising opportunities, and commitment to ED business objectives.
  • Provide leadership in all aspects of health and safety performance.
  • Act as a role model for our company values and behaviours, leading by example and fostering an inclusive team environment.
  • Provide leadership in all aspects of HSE performance (carry out one HSE walkdown or engagement per quarter and record in Intelex).
