Over this 12-month programme, most of what you learn will be on the job, with support from your mentor and the teams you work in. You'll have the opportunity to apply your academic training to genuine challenges that are faced in the energy industry and complete modules that contribute to your degree. Previous students on a Science and Engineering Industrial Placement have been involved in projects such as:
- Installing liquid level monitoring to ensure essential safety functions are maintained.
- Inspecting and assessing plant and component condition, determining remediation, repair and replacement strategies based on multiple factors.
- Assisting in running, maintaining and developing the condition monitoring programme throughout a plant.
- Supporting improvements to safety through communications campaigns, training and other improvement projects
We are looking for candidates who are on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering. You should possess strong technical and analytical skills, along with a genuine desire to learn and develop new capabilities. A questioning attitude, good teamwork, and effective communication skills are also essential qualities we seek.
