Full Job Description

As a Trust we are investing in the Estates Engineering infrastructure primarily in our mechanical & electrical engineering systems to provide the foundation for the Trust to achieve significant carbon reductions through the introduction of new renewable technologies.
The role of the Engineering Manager is to provide subject matter expertise to lead the Estates Maintenance Team in the delivery of Planned and Reactive maintenance works.
This is a pivotal role which oversees the implementation of the Trust's pre-planned maintenance program and delivers daily reactive and remedial works. As a key member of the engineering team, the post holder ensures the resilience of the estates engineering services, minimizes downtime, and upholds compliance with statutory regulations and HTM guidelines., Serve as the primary liaison point with the Estates Maintenance Manager to implement engineering services for the estate's directorate.
Manage service contracts and ensure delivery to agreed standards.
Perform various day-to-day tasks, including overseeing routine, reactive, and remedial maintenance, managing minor works and projects, conducting risk management updates, health and safety inspections, audits, improvement actions, and attending internal governance meetings and stakeholder meetings.
Participate in out-of-hours duty manager rota and support engineering activities during scheduled tests and shutdowns., Northampton General Hospital is one of the largest employers in the area and we are on an exciting journey. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Manage Statutory Compliance of Engineering Services
Manage daily reactive and PPM workloads, prioritising between statutory, non statutory servicing and daily reactive incidents including H&S related works.
Managing Service providers including assessing RAMS and issuing permits to work.
Perform the duties of Authorised Person (AP), as appointed.
Participate in the Hospitals Manager on Call rota.
Undertake feasibility studies including surveying and works estimates.
Identify alternative solutions and opportunities for savings.
Identify opportunities for savings and implement change.
To implement highest levels of Health & Safety, maintain statutory training standards across the Estates Maintenance Team and undertake inspections and audits of works carried out.
To adhere to Trust policies and statutory regulations.
