Full Job Description
As an Engineering Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Playing an integral part of the Engineering Discipline, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering for UK Mission Systems. Day-to-day, you'll responsible for providing motivated, talented, and happy engineers to our project teams, at the right time and the right cost, now and into the future.
- Accountable for the size and shape of the discipline (including Strategic Workforce Plan) to meet the demand, reduce programmatic risk, and support delivery.
- Delivery of engineering resource to time, cost and quality that meets programme requirements.
- Accountable for the recruitment, performance, training, retention, engagement, and wellbeing of engineers to meet the demand.
- Accountable for discipline processes and standards, specifically in environment, safety, health, security, and quality to support delivery. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and can be delivered from our Bristol, Plymouth or Ashchurch offices alongside home working arrangements.
- Previously held a people management role in a complex or large organisation or has operated in a role that included accountability for the optimisation of the people resource within an organisation
- Proven track record of driving delivery, performance, and continuous improvement
- Management of engineering / technical programmes, projects, and activities.
- Leading transformation and change. Qualifications for the Engineering Manager:
- Ideally Degree educated within an electrical discipline or qualified by experience. Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
