Full Job Description

  • Lead and direct a team of engineers and projects to achieve stated goals and objectives
  • Monitor and report on the overall performance of a team and projects. Creates a performance-based culture, encouraging the team to develop measurable goals and objectives that support CoE strategies.
  • Coach and mentor team members and strengthen the technical capability of the team
  • Supports the CoE Director to develop strategy, direction, and priorities. Creates action plans to drive strategies to realization.
  • Supports the CoE Director and Business Unit (BU) engineering leaders in the development of technology roadmaps, project pipelines, detailed project plans, and value proposition
  • Initiates and develops solid relationships with both engineering and business leaders within Eaton to drive the adoption of new technology, common platforms/designs, and state-of-the-art design methodologies.
  • Drives engineering excellence both in CoE and the BU's teams.

    BS in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of related engineering experience in electronics designs, and electronics product development and qualification, including electrical aspects.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading people
  • Proven track record of leadership skills and technical capability
  • Experience in project management
  • Customer-focused with good relationship-building and communication skills
  • Ability to learn new skills, knowledge, industry, or products, Hands-on experience in electronics designs and product development, especially power electronics for safety critical applications, including aerospace application
  • Broad knowledge of power electronics designs including topology, analog/digital circuits, thermal management, control, and firmware
  • Understanding of compliance standards, including MIL standards
  • Experience working in diverse cultural situations with global customers and team members
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes
  • Design for Six Sigma certification, Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual.
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Collaborative orientation, the ability to succeed in a highly team-oriented, global, and diverse environment.
  • Consistently acts in an ethical, open, honest, trustworthy, and truthful manner.
  • Desire for innovation, new product development, program management … to make what matters work!
  • Position requires up to 15% travel domestically and internationally.
