About the Role:

In this critical position, you will be responsible for the scoping, management, and delivery of engineering projects at our client s state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility. You will work closely with Operations Managers, Engineering Managers, and the Head of Engineering to ensure all projects are completed within approved budgets and agreed timescales. Your role will involve influencing across multiple levels from contractors on the ground to senior leaders in the boardroom while managing every aspect of the project lifecycle from cradle to grave.

What You ll Be Doing:

  • Project Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You ll manage both smaller projects and larger, high-impact initiatives, acting as the client representative where necessary.

  • Operational Excellence: Lead projects that adhere to the highest standards of food safety and integrity, while also meeting legislative health and safety guidelines.

  • Influence & Communication: Utilise your strong communication skills to influence and articulate project goals to stakeholders at all levels from contractors on the shop floor to senior management. You ll ensure alignment across all parties and maintain momentum throughout the project.

  • Technical Expertise: Use your experience with CAD and Gantt charts to develop detailed project plans, and ensure all technical aspects are thoroughly addressed. You ll also be responsible for submitting F10 notifications and creating construction phase plans.

  • Hands-On Leadership: Be present on the project ground, managing activities closely and ensuring that all project tasks are carried out efficiently. You ll have the tough, firm conversations when needed to keep projects on track.

  • Standard Setting: Help establish and refine project management templates and standards, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of future projects. This includes overseeing and supporting some of the other projects within the engineering department.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activities comply with company and legislative health and safety guidelines, and are recorded on CMMS.

    Experience: Proven experience as an Engineering Project Manager or similar role in a food or drink manufacturing environment.

  • Project Management Skills: Strong ability to manage projects from start to finish, including scoping, costing, budgeting, and delivery. Familiarity with CAD, Gantt charts, and construction phase planning is essential.

  • Leadership & Communication: A leader who can influence and communicate effectively across all levels, from contractors to the senior team. You must be able to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.

  • Technical Acumen: Comfortable with both the technical details and broader strategic goals of projects. You should be able to manage both high-level planning and on-the-ground execution.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on compliance, safety, and quality, with the ability to ensure all projects adhere to both company standards and regulatory requirements.
