Full Job Description
Join our operational Customer Fulfilment Centre in Andover, and become a part of Ocado's history as an Engineering Team Manager. Lead and inspire a team of skilled engineers, Technicians, and Maintenance Technicians, driving their success by assessing their capabilities, identifying development opportunities, and motivating them daily. You'll play a pivotal role in workload allocation and addressing disciplinary matters. As an Engineering Team Manager, you'll lead from the front, setting the pace, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining high standards across the CFC. You should be a competent and experienced Engineer in your own right, proficient in both mechanical and electrical aspects to make informed decisions. Be prepared to work in a 24 / 7 operation with 12-hour shifts covering days, nights, and weekends.
As a passionate leader looking to advance your career, you have experience in leading engineering teams within an automated FMCG environment. You thrive in making critical decisions in a fast-paced environment, and your technical skills in automation hardware and software are top-notch. You possess a comprehensive understanding of production, picking, and storage MHE systems. You are computer literate and have experience with computerised maintenance management systems. You're eager to learn new skills and approach problem-solving with creativity. Safety is your top priority, and you're comfortable working at heights. Preferably, you hold an Engineering qualification, along with any of the following : relevant applied learning, Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, electrical, and / or mechanical skills, ideally gained in an FMCG background to at least NVQ 3.
