Full Job Description

The position is located at Britvic's Leeds site (address above), which employs a total of 235 people. Craig Sayer serves as the Head of Site Operations, who manages the overall site. This role is part of the Engineering team, which consists of 36 employees. The Engineering Technician will report to Chris Robson, the Maintenance Manager, who oversees a team of engineers. Chris reports to Steve Horsfall, the Site Engineering Manager, responsible for the entire Engineering Team at Leeds. Additionally, the Engineering Technician will work closely with Andy Scott, who will act as a buddy during the onboarding process.

The day-based maintenance team is small, consisting of 5 engineers. This role involves working both in the workshop and on the production lines. The workshop is a separate room off the site which is quiet however production lines themselves can be a noisy environment., The role requires ensuring all work adheres to engineering and safety regulations. As a qualified engineer in mechanical or electrical disciplines, the Engineering Technician will perform corrective, modular, and preventative maintenance on production machinery., During the internship, you will learn skills and knowledge to have the confidence to become a multiskilled engineer within our industry. You will learn things like basic PLC program writing along with PLC fault finding. We will also offer a short welding course where you will be able to put into practice what you have learned in the classroom.

You will learn how our soft drinks are made and how engineering planned work affects this. You will also be involved in our annual planned outages across site, this will involve people planning, task arrangement and job control. All this will be within the supervision of our maintenance manager and your buddy who will guide you throughout.

  • Mechanical or Electrical Qualification in Engineering - ideally City and Guilds or ONC

  • 17/18th Edition qualification

  • Engineering and Technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of electrical installation work

  • Ability to effectively communicate with the team

  • Ability to interact with contractors, and ensure they meet our requirements

  • Welcomes and acts on feedback received from others.
