Full Job Description

We are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our RSC (Respiratory Supply Chain) Assembly team to provide engineering expertise to support production activities. Engineering Technicians work in a team (managed by a Shift Engineer) to support the highly skilled, diverse teams across production, quality, and technical functions at the site. Engineering Technicians conduct a wide range of engineering maintenance, calibrations, physical interventions, and repair activities. Engineering Technician tasks include:

  • Calibration of critical process equipment
  • Interrogation of control and automation systems
  • Fault finding, problem solving and breakdown resolution
  • Maintenance activities on device assembly equipment
  • Continuous improvement of production equipment and processes
  • Completion of any required statutory maintenance
  • Liaising with cross functional teams Quality, Validation, Site operations
  • You may also be involved with project work (including commissioning and installing new equipment)
  • Shift Pattern - This role operates on a 24/7 shift.     Relevant engineering qualifications and / or experience is required (Engineering Apprenticeship in Controls and Automation or Process controls subjects are preferred). A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential. You will be a willing learner and a good communicator who takes personal accountability, ownership and action to do the right thing. Good verbal, written and computer communication skills are needed and you must be able to work within a team and follow standard processes. We are particularly interested in applicants with primary hands-on experience in the following areas:
  • Automation and Controls (eg; Siemens S7, Festo and Siemens servo drives, Cognex vision systems, Fanuc robots, etc)
  • Process control
  • Additional experience of the below areas will also be considered:
  • Mechanical
  • Pneumatics
  • Instrumentation
  • Process control
  • Calibration
  • Electrical
  • About Ware Site: Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline, many of which are life-saving medicines.,
  • Relevant qualifications and experience (e.g. Engineering Apprenticeship. An HNC / HND Level qualification).
  • Applicants without an HNC level qualification need to have EngTech status or have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • A good standard of numeracy and literacy
