Full Job Description
Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is currently seeking a passionate and proactive English and Maths Engagement Mentor to join our team. Based at the Blackpool School of Arts (BSoA) at the University Centre, this is an exciting opportunity to support student success in core subjects and contribute to a dynamic academic environment.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
As an Engagement Mentor, you will play a key role in driving student engagement and progress in English and Maths within an assigned curriculum area. Your main duties will involve:
Building effective relationships with students, fostering an environment of trust and support to improve attendance, engagement, and progress in English and Maths.
Monitoring and reporting on student progress and homework engagement, liaising with staff, parents/guardians, and external agencies as appropriate.
Collaborating with curriculum teams to integrate and raise the profile of English and maths within their programmes.
Planning and delivering targeted interventions for students at risk of underperformance, including one-to-one and group sessions.
Supporting high-achieving students in English and Maths to reach their full potential and access enrichment opportunities.
