Full Job Description

We will be opening our doors early in 2025. We will cater for young people aged 11-16 with a primary need of SEMH and other related areas of SEN such as ASD. The first phase of opening will see pupils in KS3 join across years 7, 8 and 9 many of whom may have been out of school for some time and desperately need support from ambitious, driven teaching staff who care deeply about pupils' emotional as well as academic development. Amongst our team of SEN teachers, we are looking to recruit an English specialist who will teach English initially to KS3 pupils with special educational needs including social and emotional difficulties. As the school expands, and our pupils move into KS4 we will be widening our curriculum to include GCSE courses. This role will suit experienced SEN practitioners, primary teachers or secondary teachers with a proven track record of delivering and/or overseeing English as a subject leader or specialist teacher. All successful candidates will have ambitious expectations for all pupils and a desire to drive high standards and educational outcomes. All successful candidates will also have a willingness to take on new skills and approaches to meet pupils educational and emotional needs. Who we are looking for: Qualified teachers or ECTs with experience in SEN, primary or secondary education be that within special or mainstream. + An English specialist with the subject knowledge and classroom practice to teach across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. + An ability and willingness to teach additional subjects as required. + A commitment to motivating learners while challenging and supporting them to achieve their potential. + Candidates who are child centred, organised, resourceful and proactive. + Candidates with a desire to continually improve own teaching and classroom practice. This is a full-time, permanent position on teachers' pay scale open to UQT/ECT/MPS/UPS + SEN allowance. Are you looking for an exciting new challenge in January 2025? Will Adams is our smallest Kent & Medway hub school with only 45 children, but it is also home to our exceptional SEMH Assessment Centre and Apollo Training programmes which are commissioned by the Medway Local Authority.
