Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive English department within a prestigious West London secondary school. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of confident communicators and critical thinkers, fostering a love for literature and the power of language. Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery:
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics, reading comprehension, writing fluency, grammar, vocabulary acquisition).
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading, writing, speaking and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
