We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, committed and hardworking classroom practitioner.   • Identifying appropriate learning outcomes and developing a range of approaches which reduce barriers and help students to attain achievable targets.
  • Thoroughly planning and preparing lessons and contributing to broader developments as requested.
  • Sequencing and structuring learning experiences and environments to develop organisational and problem solving skills to encourage independent learning
  • Selecting and managing resources, using specialised materials including ICT, as appropriate, to enable maximum access to the curriculum and to promote independent living skills.
  • Being aware of the effects of attachment behaviours on learning, adjusting targets and approaches accordingly.
  • Working collaboratively with multi disciplinary teams to make best use of expertise.
  • To ensure a high standard of display to provide a stimulating and challenging environment.
  • To recognise, value and raise the achievement of students.
  • The school: Orchard School is a specialist independent school who supports young people who have suffered sexual trauma enabling them to realise their potential and through personalised support, achieve their goals. Our vision is that students will not only be supported academically but be supported to develop self-esteem, confidence, respect and consideration for others, to enable them to become effective and contributing citizens within the community. The School is an independent, DfE registered co-educational day school, providing specialist education for up to 20 students, aged 11 - 18 years. The school is non-denominational and has an ethos of respect and tolerance for all cultural needs and religious beliefs.

    We are looking to appoint an inspirational, ambitious English Teacher / SENCO to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team at Orchard school.,
  • You will hold relevant, professional teaching qualification such as; degree or PGCE or equivalent.
  • You will have strong knowledge of National Curriculum and Ofsted Inspection Framework.
  • You will have knowledge of safeguarding and experience of how to work as part of a team to effectively safeguard young people.
  • You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, who plans, delivers and assess regularly, looking proactive ways to develop your practice.
  • Experience in managing complex behaviours with trauma informed practice and appropriate interventions is desirable.
  • You will have knowledge and experiencing of multi-agency working to support Looked after Children and young people who have EHCPs.
