Full Job Description

This role is to work as part of the Healthcare team, providing support to residents and the healthcare team, ensuring safe working practice in a secure environment in accordance with the Prison Healthcare Standard, Prison Service rules and Prison Service Standing Orders. The post holder will provide the role of a clinic receptionist booking patients in and out on the clinical system, liaising with clinical and prison staff to ensure the smooth running of clinics, providing an efficient and effective front-line service. The post holder will need to develop strong links with prison staff, can communicate to a high level, be reliable and able to work flexibly and autonomously.

The service works closely with the Assessment and Treatment Service (DEE), outreach and Psychological Informed Environment (PIPE).

Enhanced Support Service (ESS)The Enhanced Support Service is a service model comprising of a small multi-disciplinary team who work intensively with prisoners and staff using an individualised, psychologically informed approach with a small caseload of the most challenging prisoners. The service aims to reduce the negative impact of violent, suicidal & disruptive behaviour in. In addition, the team will promote a wider understanding of the difficulties associated with the prisoner group to facilitate a more psychologically informed environment that can best support the prisoners and their needs., The administrator will provide administrative support to ESS team at HMP Peterborough, including referrals, inputting, and developing databases, produce meaningful reports under the direction of the clinical and service lead.

The post holder will work as the team administrator for ESS part of the multi-disciplinary team which has close links with a wide range of agencies.

This post is based within HMP Peterborough, which holds approximately 850 category B male residents, acting as a remand prison. The prison also holds up to 360 female residents acting as a category B and C for women for remand and sentenced residents. There is also a 12 bedded mother and baby unit. Both male and female prison has YOI accommodation.

The post holder will work as the team administrator for ESS part of the multi-disciplinary team which has close links with a wide range of agencies.
