Full Job Description

Here at Serco, we are seeking an Enterprise Architect to join our Digital, Data, and Technology (DDaT) team. In this pivotal role, you will own and define the strategy and roadmap for End User Services and support the execution of high complexity, high risk and/or Serco critical IT workstreams by studying and understanding business requirements, identifying gaps between business requirements and current IT capabilities, defining solutions to bridge the gap, and making sure that the project scope is maintained, and solutions implemented in line with the overall strategy and architecture.

You will understand not just the IT needs of the business but also the overall impact of proposed solutions to the profitability of the business, maximising the value of the tooling in End User Services. You will have strong credibility in this space and will be a specialist whilst maintaining a vast knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies.

As part of this you'll:

  • Liaise with business representatives, Divisional IT Enterprise Architect team to understand the needs of the business unit.

  • Liaise with other IT professionals (e.g., IT Senior/Solutions Leads, Standard Service Technical Leads) to design enterprise architectures and strategies.

  • Define and Ensure compliance to strategy and solution architectural design in the implementation of projects.

  • Provide architectural guidance and leadership to the IT Senior/Solution Architects and Technical Delivery teams to ensure delivery is in line with the sector roadmap designs.

  • Provide delivery execution guidance to the delivery team, supporting the design governance of the workstream breakdown.

  • Render consulting and technical support services on project implementation to the IT Senior/Solution Architects and Technical Delivery teams.

  • Explain technical issues and IT solutions strategies to Business Unit stakeholders and other IT professionals as required in support of solutions.

  • Maintain the EUS and collaboration architecture of all systems used in the technology areas in sufficient detail to support ongoing design work.

  • Describe the structure of EUS and collaboration solutions to a business problem, which may include several applications and technologies.

    Thorough understanding of modern IT Infrastructure, end user applications and devices and Cloud based collaboration technologies.

  • Effective communication skills that enable you to convey complex technical details to clients in a straightforward manner

  • Analytical mindset and logical in approaching issues.

  • Strong background in End User Computing & Collaboration architectures, operations, processes, and both industry and government compliances.

  • Strong background in Microsoft technology would be beneficial.

  • Up to date with current technologies and ability to identify technical issues and be able to design solutions to fix them.

  • Flexible in making plans and program decisions.

  • Good knowledge of security standards, legislation, and best practice.

  • Must be willing to undergo SC clearance.
