Full Job Description

The Environment Lead will drive the maturity of the Environment management function by defining, implementing and operating key processes to ensure that non-production environments are cost effective, fit for purpose and meet the demands of the Programme portfolio.

The Environment lead will also lead major Programmes, ensuring environment requirements are understood, delivered and environments are supported through test phases whilst contributing to the operational effectiveness of the Environments and Quality Management function.

This role is Hybrid working, so travel to our Travis Perkins head office based in Northampton is required once a week!

Principal Accountabilities

  • Liaise with Project Stakeholders to understand the Environment Requirements

  • Produces and delivers upon Environment Plans to support Programme requirements

  • Challenges requirements and approaches to ensure best use of environments

  • Maintains configuration of environments, ensuring they are fit for purpose and acts as a point of contact for testing teams

  • Leads of continual improvement initiatives within the Environment and Quality Management functions

  • Provides mentoring and guidance to team members, Ben is the Service Desk Manager in our IT Service Desk department in Head Office. He's been in his role for 5 months now, but part of the Travis Perkins Group for over 5 years. We spoke to him abou, Vaida is a Data Scientist within the Travis Perkins Group's Data Office function.     Maths and English GCSEs grades C / 4 or above

  • ITIL v4 Foundation

  • Experience of Leading Environment Management activities on complex Programme’s

  • Comprehensive, demonstrable experience in the field of Environment Management

  • Management of stakeholder relationships to aid delivery effectiveness.

  • Understanding of how to drive positive outcomes working with a Matrix organisation, including managing partners

  • Experience of working in a Continuous Improvement Environment

  • 3rd party supplier management and working within Commercial Frameworks

  • Deep knowledge of the delivery and lifecycle of IT systems and processes, Including working in both Agile and Waterfall software delivery environments

  • Knowledge and experience of working in a Dev Ops environment, and specifically within DevSecOps to ensure Travis Perkins environments conform to all security standards and best practises
