Full Job Description

We are looking for a hardworking, intellectually curious individual to play the role of Environment and Release Manager. This role requires the oversight of the SDLC release process and managing the System Team within a scaled agile framework (SAFe) enterprise whilst owning associated PI planning and events. The role is responsible for planning and delivering the release cadence associated with a number of geographically diverse delivery teams and applications. As a lead of System team, you will ensure the environments to releases are maintained and fit for purpose, ensuring all the relevant quality checks are maintained and the pathway to production efficient.,

  • Leads the planning, managing and governing solution releases while co-ordinating with key stakeholders across Operations and technology.
  • Work closely with Tech Leads and Product Owners to ensure the release health is maintained from scope, quality and cycle time perspectives.
  • Lead the quarterly PI planning and manage SCRUM Sprints
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement by owning retrospectives and their respective actions
  • Ensure the end-to-end testing quality gates are being met for every release.
  • Organising end to end system demonstrations to our customers
  • Handles risks / dependencies and ensures risk management & mitigation processes are followed by the relevant team members
  • Owns issue resolution, providing options and solutions to the team and raising to senior leadership and stakeholders when required
  • Liaises with key contributors to support technical and resource requirements to ensure the release objectives can be met
  • Manages relationships with a range of senior business, technology, resources and product owner partners (internal and external)

    In-depth understanding of agile software development projects and lifecycle
  • Strong awareness of modern development practices and micro service-based architecture
  • Good understanding of cloud-based system environments and release management practices
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels of management & staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with geographically dispersed cross-functional teams and team members.
  • Results focused with ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and without constant supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive management style., Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electronics or IT related field or equivalent IT related experience.
  • Certification in Agile methodologies such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Scaled Agile Certification.
  • Minimum of 7 years' software delivery experience
  • Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as Jira and confluence
