Full Job Description

We're looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our Aylesbury Delivery Area based from our North Aylesbury office. This role will require regular travel to site and other sites within the Delivery Area.
We need an Environmental Advisor to provide support to the Environment Manager to deliver the HS2 contract requirements relating to environmental management. We would like you to undertake site monitoring to assure compliance with noise trigger levels and water quality discharge consent conditions
Your support will be needed for our supply chain in delivering HS2 contractual requirements. It's essential that you identify opportunities for implementing best practice and innovation to achieve cost and programme efficiencies and risk mitigation. You'll also record achievements in best practice case studies.
You will provide a main point of contact for project managers for geographic areas and support the environment manager in communications with external stakeholders in relation to HS2 environmental contract requirements, including consent granting bodies
We need you to undertake assurance in accordance with EKFB management processes including document control, audit, non-conformance, surveillance inspections and incidents
In consultation with the project manager and commercial team you will also provide support to suppliers to ensure that sustainability data and reports and vehicle and plant use data is submitted on time each period, complete and accurate.
The role will require you to provide specialist advice to project managers for geographic areas in relation to HS2 contract environmental requirements, EKFB management processes, and any other legal requirements.
You must also identify requirements and support delivery of training and awareness briefings to EKFB colleagues and suppliers.

Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work within a team and be flexible
- Accuracy of work and attention to detail
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, working towards IEMA practitioner level (or similar)
- Willingness to undertake site inspections, monitoring and sampling on a civil engineering site
