Full Job Description

Our UK and Ireland Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) team is seeking a graduate to join the team in Croydon from January 25 onwards.

The EDD team sits in AECOM's Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Practice. The EHS practice is a cornerstone of our commitment to creating safe and sustainable environments. Our experts bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to address complex challenges in environmental compliance, health, and safety. From developing robust EHS management systems to providing comprehensive training and advisory services, we empower organisations to navigate regulatory landscapes and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

We have a regional, as well as a global, network of qualified local staff within the organisation. These contacts provide the local perspective on potential environmental liabilities and allow us to quickly mobilize to sites throughout our core operating countries globally.

About our Team

Our team of environmental consultants help clients identify, understand, mitigate and manage the environmental risks associated with Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), infrastructure and real estate and standing assets transactions. Our team collaborates closely with other teams to provide advice on complex technical, safety, environmental, ESG and other salient issues. We help reduce our clients' exposure and costs, improve returns on investment, facilitate the deal and protect reputations.

Our team provides Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) services to commercial and industrial clients with the primary goal of identifying and eliminating or controlling environmental or permitting liabilities. One key objective is to identify whether there are or could be contaminated land issues associated with the land on which the property is located that could represent a constraint to acquisition. AECOM assesses existing and reasonably foreseeable material soil and groundwater contamination, presence of contaminants such as asbestos, and whether there has been any regulatory enforcement relating to contaminated land. We also assess the geology, hydrogeology, nearby surface water courses and nearby designated ecological sites. We can tailor our assessments to incorporate any of our environmental specialist services that the client or its governance requires.
