Full Job Description
We are seeking an Environmental Health Officer/ Senior Environmental Health Officer (EHO) or Student/Unregistered EHO for a post in the Food Safety Team to enhance our service delivery. What will be expected of me? The purpose of the role is to carry out food hygiene regulatory work to protect the health of people. You will undertake official food controls such as inspections, revisit, investigation of complaints and visit varied businesses to advise and support them with their food hygiene What I might be doing? You will undertake a range of inventions as an authorised local authority officer and ensure businesses comply with relevant legislation and statutory guidance relating to the regulatory function. Food Safety Officer (x1)
- Will carry out official food controls across varied businesses from low to high risk, large manufacturers and those needing approval.
- Will undertake a range of interventions as an authorised officer which may include audits, revisits, sampling, food fraud, complaint investigations, responding to food safety risks and food poisoning outbreaks.
Accredited BSc degree or MSc in Environmental Health or other equivalent relevant professional qualification for Senior/EHO/Unregistered EHO levels - Student level applicants must be within a year of finishing a degree or master's degree
- Registration with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (including EHRB) for Senior/EHO levels
- Full UK Category B Driving Licence for cars / light vans, vehicles can be provided.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and competency in the Food Law Code of Practice for the role. (Senior/EHO levels)
- Excellent customer care as training and support and training in the role will be given
- Demonstrate an ability to self-motivate with an enthusiastic can-do attitude

What can I expect? - Full-Time post of 37 hours per week, part time 18.5 hours applications will be considered.
