Full Job Description

Working alone or in a small crew you will be collecting litter, dog waste, residual waste or recyclable materials from litter and dog waste bins and domestic properties across the Craven locality. You will have to be able to move bags, wheelie bins, and using a lifting mechanism to tip the waste into the Refuse Collection Vehicle. Health and safety is also critical to ensure your team and residents are safe, including supporting your driver to help them navigate the streets of North Yorkshire safely. The role is a hugely important role as you will be on the front-line of a key service in Skipton. As required, you need to be prepared to start early and weekend working will be required. The role You will be:

  • Collection and emptying of litter and dog waste bins and some receptacles
  • Removing spillages and litter picking.
  • Driving small compaction Refuse Collection Vehicles and Mechanical Sweepers.
  • As a driver, ensuring manoeuvres are completed safely and mitigate the risk to pedestrians and other road users Responsible for the health and safety of self and colleagues, ensuring that all safe working practices are followed

    No previous experience is required, and full training will be given. Minimum C1 Licence and valid CPC required
