You will also need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to undertake inspection duties across the entire district.

We work flexibly in Warwick, and support working at home or flexible working patterns that enable you to tailor your working and personal life. However, you will also be required to come into the office as well. We provide the equipment and tools to enable you to work flexibly, and in return ask you to use that flexibility to be creative and ambitious in the services we deliver.

You will be expected to be based in the office on at least one day a week (Mon-Fri on a rota basis), attend meetings as required and be available for the occasional out of hours work, sometimes at the weekend to respond to complaints. (Approximately 10 times a year).

If so, we have a vacancy for Senior Environmental Protection Officer, in our Environmental Protection team, which has responsibilities for matters such as pollution control, statutory nuisances, public health funerals, air quality, contaminated land, consultation on planning applications, and licensing applications as well as public health related activities.

The post presents an ideal opportunity for environmental health practitioners who already have experience and knowledge of the work involved and are perhaps looking to progress their career, but do not hold a EHORB registration. You will need to have the relevant level of qualification or have five years or more experience, in one or more of the service specific subject areas, including a sound knowledge of regulatory controls.

Working with the support of more senior colleagues you will take responsibility for your own caseload. Undertaking investigations, compliance, and complaint inspections, providing advice and guidance to members of the public and other service users and partners.

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative but will have the support from specialist officers whilst working within a team that places a high value on teamwork, customer focus, professionalism, responsibility, and creativity.

As a senior officer, you will also be expected to take the lead responsibility for the co-ordination of specific activities and support student/apprentices/new or lesser qualified or experienced team members as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and reliable person to join our small but busy team. You must be competent with Microsoft Office and use of the internet and be an excellent communicator at all levels. You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to plan/prioritise and sequence multiple and potentially conflicting priorities.
