Environmental Protection Officer / Technical Assistant

Join Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council as an Environmental Protection Officer/Technical Assistant in our Regulatory Services team. This role involves providing technical support, conducting inspections, and enforcing environmental regulations.,

• Support contaminated land, air quality, private water supplies, and regulation of industrial processes.


• Investigate statutory nuisance complaints and pollution-related anti-social behaviour.


• Advise planning and licensing teams.


• Conduct inspections, investigate complaints, and take appropriate actions.


• Prepare reports and participate in council meetings.
  
  Qualifications: Relevant degree in Environmental Health or related field preferred


• Experience: Experience in a similar role, ideally in local government or regulatory environment.


• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of contaminated land, air quality, private water supply and pollution control.


• Organisational Skills: Strong time management and ability to manage varied workload.
