Full Job Description

The role be based from our Skipton depot and will cover the North Yorkshire area. Do you take pride in the quality of your work? Youll carry out our grounds maintenance function ensuring that all seasonal cuts, flower bed maintenance, control of weeds and renovation to grassed areas and all other associated grounds maintenance are to tip-top standards. Youll have responsibility for the daily use and maintenance of all grounds maintenance equipment (strimmers, mowers and tractors) and keep accurate records of this. Occasionally youll be carrying out minor works to include fencing, UPVC maintenance as prepared by both property and environmental services and other sections within the company. As part of this role, youll actively participate in the companys emergency out of hours emergency service, being part of a rota and attending community-based emergency situations along with minor repairs (e.g. flooding, boarding up, etc.).

  • Youll have previous experience and skills in this area from a similar role and have knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, including the use of safe machinery and PPE.
  • A validUK driving licence is an essential requirement.

  • Youll be really capable of using your own initiative and working unsupervised.

  • Recognised apprenticeship in horticultural, landscape maintenance, community-based services.
  • Experience undertaking duties relevant to the post.
  • Experience of trailer and plant towing.
