Full Job Description

In this role you will be responsible for the design and development of transformational projects and BAU changes to JLR's Oracle EPM solution (comprising of FCCS (Financial Consolidation and Close), ePBCS (Planning), TRCS (Tax Reporting) and NR (Narrative Reporting)). Working within the EPM CoE (Centre of Excellence), you will liaise with key stakeholders to gather requirements or understand the problem statement, design a solution, then work with CoE colleagues to build, test and finally implement.,

  • Maintain the JLR EPM landscape ensuring rules stay efficient and fit for purpose and extend interfaces to / from / within the EPM toolset

  • Support users and Stakeholders on application use, best practice and promote key features; support the business to include translation of business issues and requirements into system solution designs and support the solution to enable business teams to produce group consolidated results for monthly /quarterly /annual reporting and management to tight deadlines

  • Lead the development of project change, extending the application metadata and rules to keep up with business structure and feature demand; to maintain or improve system performance; and to manage the solution to ensure robust financial reporting and variance analysis of actuals, budget, forecast and business plan into business operations

  • Work to ensure robust and rigorous controls over application change and access are maintained

  • Provide coaching and training to the team to meet wider business commitments and support team growth; provide analytical and project management support with specific ownership for the development and implementation of application and process change and provide effective analysis of 'why' things are happening

    You will have experience of using Oracle EPM Cloud, ideally including EPM Groovy rules (but strong programming experience in Groovy /Java/Python (or similar) outside of EPM would be acceptable) with the ability to design and build custom applications and rules.


  • As an EPM system advocate, you will need to keep up to date with all new and upcoming cloud features, and how they could enhance JLRs existing deployment providing improved accuracy, speed and robustness., You will have ability to design and build custom BSO rules for Essbase/PBCS / Planning Cloud; strong programming skills in Groovy or related language; strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills and able to communicate technical concepts to wider business users and to convert broad business requirements into specific actionable development packages.

  • Proven track record working with Oracle EPM Planning (PBCS, ePBCS)

  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and the ability to challenge and embed key processes

  • Experience using relational database and/or BigQuery database for data storage and reporting

  • Proven demonstration of a continuous improvement mind-set - able to pro-actively identify and implement process improvement opportunities

  • Extensive experience administering a Planning / HFM / PBCS / FCCS environment, including using EPM Automate
