Full Job Description

The ePR training & Project Support Officer is pivotal in the Electronic Patient Record Programme and is key to the successful delivery of this exciting transformation programme, working as part of a team delivering, developing and designing the content and delivery of systems training to the highest education standards within the local health community, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills to enable the successful implementation the of systems systems through day to day training, deployments and system upgrades. Managing training rooms ensuring that the training environment is always safe, organised, and conducive to learning. Maintaining training records of attendance and evaluation., Delivery of high quality training to staff on all identified Trust EPR Systems in a co-ordinated and professional manner in a variety of locations This will include - Effective development of curriculum delivery & maintain focus and commitment to a high standard of delivery, ensuring implementation of IT educational developments are effective, streamlined & efficient Ensure new learning opportunities and resources are integrated into educational delivery plans and communicate complex curriculum information in a way which allows all end users to fully understand the processes in the required context Utilise skills of influencing, tact and diplomacy where conflicting pressures and barriers hinder effective training delivery Deal effectively with trainees who are disruptive, negative or demotivated through training management skills in order to minimize impact on others Testing competencies of those being trained and feedback Deal tactfully and sensitively with staff who do not demonstrated required competency level and manage further training for staff if required Undertake Training Needs Analysis in support of training required by establishing benchmarks for training against which competencies will be assessed Active participation in the development, planning, design and implementation of training courses taking part in group discussions and team meetings Write & test process and ensure they are presented within a standardised format & jargon free,

  • Leading on the preparation of learning environments including layout, setting up
  • equipment and learning aids.
  • Coaching of new staff on all systems in preparation of training delivery.
  • Designing of training databases to reflect live environments conducive to training.
  • Develop training courses to accommodate differing skill levels and learning styles.
  • Set up/upgrade of user accounts after training delivery, conforming to correct levels of role based access.
  • Undergo annual appraisal and be responsible for evaluating the currency and sufficiency of own knowledge and practice against KSF outlines.
  • Agree and develop personal development plans and maintain a PDP to provide evidence of development and performance against KSF outlines.
  • Be responsible for own personal educational and experiential learning, keeping up to date with changes in local and national trends and policies, undertaking training as required for the development of the post.
  • Participate in the induction/training of new Junior Doctors as part of the induction process.
  • Share information relating to own are of work within the team, actively promote and support the sharing of knowledge and skills and the professional development of those engaged in administrating educational delivery.

    GCSE English & Maths Grade C/4 or above or equivalent experience
  • Keyboard skills to RSA II or equivalent experience
  • Training or relevant teaching qualification (PGCE) or willingness to work towards qualification in PTLLS, Highly numerate and accurate with proven analytical skills to analyse complex data
  • Experience of working with information/data systems
  • Comprehensive training experience either 1:1 or group setting
  • Highly IT literate with advanced skills in MS Office
  • Experience of working in a team or independently
  • Good IT skills demonstrated by use of word, excel, outlook.
  • Desirable criteria
  • Experience of business change within health systems
  • A detailed understanding of the IM&T strategy and its implications on the organisation
  • Experience of training groups of learners with variable skill levels, managing group dynamics to ensure a positive outcome
  • Knowledge of SQL to be able to extract and validate data from various IM&T Systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare IM&T Systems
  • Knowledge of NHS information process and capture, Able to build working relationships with colleagues, internally and externally
  • Excellent communicator with good presentation skills
  • Flexible and able to commit to working outside core hours if the service requires it
  • Have access to a vehicle for work purposes and be able to drive when required

  • Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.
