Full Job Description

As an Equipment Maintainer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be preparing machinery and equipment throughout the Marine Engineering Group to ensure training and instruction can be given to Naval personnel at all times.

Day-to-day, you will carry out varied upkeeping tasks from low level equipment maintenance (repairing oil leak on machinery) & preparing machinery for instruction to upkeep the cleanliness of buildings.

  • To carry out low levels of maintenance and small work defect rectification as directed

  • To operate and watch keep on machinery for which training will be provided.

  • To ensure cleanliness of buildings, including sumps, bilges and bunds as directed

  • To be able to issue tools from the Engineer's ready use store for training purposes.


  • This role is full time working 37 hours per week and is based on site at Gosport, Hampshire.

    Essential experience of the Equipment Maintainer
  • Experience in fault finding and reporting in a building environment.

  • Working knowledge of IT equipment (Word, Excel)


  • Qualifications for the Equipment Maintainer
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office packages to manipulate data accordingly and to present statistical information.

  • Awareness of First Aid / Fire & Risk Assessment. Training will be provided.


  • Security Clearance
    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
