We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Equipment Product Manager to join our team and help shape the future of our product range, from tents to backpacks, sleeping bags to stoves and lighting., Purpose of the Role: As an Equipment Product Manager, you will actively design, source, and manage our diverse camping and equipment range. You will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for sustainability and delivering high-quality products. Your mission will include researching, preparing, and executing plans that meet both commercial and sustainability targets., · Maintain & Deliver the Product Line Map. Arrange and present quarterly strategic updates to management team - how products groups will remain relevant to Alpkit consumers, how we will address new (relevant) trends, products needed & planned.
· Determine clear & accurate timelines - aligned to product delivery expectations and considering factory / material & shipping lead times.
· Propose prioritised workload and deliver to agreed plan. Write Product Briefs for new products & share with marketing / Supply chain et al.
· Track the development and supply chain process via management of the biweekly tracker meetings/ maintaining tracker documents.
· Set realistic retail prices for new products and work with factories to deliver products that are functional, attractive to consumers (aesthetics, performance, and features vs cost) whilst delivering agreed margin targets.
· Design & Development of new Products in conjunction with Factory partners, using own design skill set.
· Incorporate feedback from user groups and our own sales teams.
· Create and maintain development tech packages and core product data to share with factories and internal teams that share information accurately and ensure products are developed efficiently.
· Work to improve efficient / reduce complexity within products and reduce number of suppliers / materials where possible to improve efficiencies, sustainability and improve margin.
· Manage development of Instructions & Product Packaging and their application to products. - Intuitive design and illustrations reduce complexity and make products international.

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, MS Excel, and the MS Office suite.

  • Motivated by creating superior products.

  • Experienced in product design and development within relevant categories.

  • Skilled in product management and teamwork within small teams.

  • Commercially savvy with a strong customer focus.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Passionate about outdoor pursuits.

  • Committed to sustainability and its commercial applications.

  • Experienced in cross-team collaboration.

  • Willing to travel to Europe and Asia for supplier visits.

  • Confident decision-maker and self-starter.

  • Capable of creating and maintaining process documentation.

  • Creative, practical, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Possess a full UK driving license.
