Applications are invited for the post of Equipment Technician based at Ysbyty Bryn Y Neuadd, Llanfairfechan. The North West Wales Community Equipment Service provides community equipment (mobility aids) to hospitals and members of the public across North West of Wales. The service is a Partnership between Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey County Council and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The post holder will provide community equipment (mobility aids) to members of the public and community hospitals. Giving advice, technical information and support to practitioners and therapists on equipment whilst providing a timely delivery and collection service provision and decontamination service complying to the National Minimum standards for Community Equipment Services in Wales., Some key duties include:

  • To provide a high standard of equipment knowledge to customers and professionals, to ensure the appropriate equipment is prescribed to meet individual needs.
  • Monitoring and maintaining financial information for the Service Manager in relation to the joint pooled budget allocation for the North West Wales Community Equipment Service.
  • Efficient recording and monitoring of testing/servicing results for lifting equipment to comply with health and safety legislation, namely the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (1998) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (1998).
  • Recording information relating to service users onto the secure database system whilst complying with data protection guidance.
  • A secondary requirement of this role would be on occasions delivering equipment into patient's houses which includes driving a Health Board vehicle and decontaminating equipment once collected.
