Full Job Description

As an equity analyst covering the Technology and Video Gaming sector you will build an in-depth knowledge of the sector which will be leveraged to provide value-add expertise and insights to both internal and external clients and stakeholders.

As an equity analyst covering the Technology and Video Gaming sector you will build an in-depth knowledge of the sector which will be leveraged to provide value-add expertise and insights to both internal and external clients and stakeholders. This role requires model creation and maintenance, thematic research publication, client marketing and network building.
Aside from taking responsibility for individual company and/or sector coverage, the candidate will also consider rolling out coverage to additional stocks if deemed commercial to enhance the franchise.
All analysts in the department will be required to have input into department wide initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Equity Analyst (Technology) include but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of financial accounts of both covered and peer companies

  • Analysis of industry data, trends and related company strategies

  • Developing detailed financial models for covered technology companies

  • Interaction with management teams and engagement with Corporate Broking to maintain existing corporate relationships and develop new relationships.

  • Publishing thematic stock and sector research notes for institutional clients

  • Innovative stock and sector ideas.

  • Daily communication with internal teams including traders and equity sales on latest stock views; peer company results and newsflow

  • Planning sectoral events for institutional and corporate clients

  • Attending bespoke industry events and profiling Goodbody

  • Appetite to build a strong network and rapport with both public and private companies, private equity, and institutional investors.

  • Initiation of New sectoral coverage across the technology space

  • Preparation of weekly newflow pertinent to the sector

  • Assistance in managing graduate trainee rotations and delegating tasks where appropriate.

    5+ years of relevant sector experience as a sell-side or buy-side analyst with a detailed market and company knowledge

  • The ideal candidate will possess, Excellent Microsoft Office skills and Bloomberg and/or FactSet

  • CFA or chartered accountancy qualifications are welcome but not prerequisite

  • Relevant Degree
