Full Job Description

The ESAB Specialist Project Officer will be responsible for project managing the embedding of learning once the completion of Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SAR) has taken place. Identify and implement processes for Whole family Approach (Think family) and Safeguarding Adult Transition processes across the ESAB multi agency partnership.

Delivering and project managing this role on behalf of Essex Safeguarding Adults Board which is a statutory board and the second largest board in the country, working with the ESAB independent chair, Safeguarding Adults Review subcommittee and senior officers across the multi-agency partnerships in Essex, whilst also liaising with partnerships across the country where appropriate.

The role will be to cover three specific areas of project work, these being embedding of learning for Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs), Transitions (covering Children to Adult Services) and Whole Family approach (previously known as Think Family) with specific remit to:

  • Strengthen partner's ability to appropriately sign-post people and referrers to the correct support contacts and ensure 'cross purpose'; as well as a develop a broad understanding of each other's areas and fill gaps if they exist in shared understanding.

  • Identify gaps and increase access to help and information, for those with care and support needs including gaining feedback from people with Lived Experience, under reached groups and ensure EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion).

  • Ensure that all information received with regard to SAR Action Plan outcomes is evidence based, with accountability in place.

  • Determine how/if practice improvement and learning are embedded in organisations, from SAR outcomes.

    Educated to degree level or equivalent by experience with evidence of continuing professional development and strong knowledge in relevant professional area.

  • Proven experience of project management and reviewing, compiling, and interpreting complex and detailed information.

  • Demonstrable experience of coordinating, administering, and minuting complex multi-agency meetings.

  • Proven experience managing competing workloads and priorities to deliver work to strict deadlines.

  • Ability to work with sensitive and distressing information.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant guidance and legislation related to multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.

  • Ability to be assertive and confident in pursuing the delivery of information from senior officers working in a wide variety of organisations.

  • Ability to independently determine appropriate courses of action in relation to queries and to provide clear and concise information in response to these.

    Working on behalf of the statutory Essex Safeguarding Adults Board (ESAB; www.esab.org.uk) Who are hosted by one of their statutory partners Adult Social Care, this role is responsible for delivering and project-manage the embedding of learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews, implementing a think family approach and raising the profile of the transitional safeguarding for adults in Essex. This is a busy high-profile role working closely with ESAB Partners across Essex., As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
