Full Job Description

The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive administration service to support the reception booking team, consultants and clinicians in the General Surgery Department but primarily within the ESAC team (Emergency Surgical Ambulatory Care). You will work in association with the clerical teams to provide a central point of communication for patients and staff., + Provide a complete medical administrative service including RTT, patient correspondence and editing and formatting letters.
+ To provide a first point of contact, answering all telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, and using own judgement to establish the priority of issues and taking action as appropriate.
+ To book ESAC clinic appointments as detailed by the Nurse Practitioners and upload any documents as necessary.
+ To deal with incoming correspondence, using initiative as appropriate to expedite issues and administer patient appointments when necessary.
+ Administration of the referral to treatment patient pathway (RTT) including checking patient outcomes are recorded accurately on CernerMillennium and ensuring incorrect coding is rectified.
+ Reviewing letters, outcome forms and other documentation to confirm RTT clock start and stop dates when require.
