We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at a HMP Wandsworth, a Category B adult male prison. As an Escort/Maintenance Operative, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Maintenance Operative with a combination of:

• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• An ability and confidence to undertake basic plumbing tasks such as replacement of taps, washers and clearance of blockages.
• A wide range of DIY skills, with a 'can do' attitude and a willingness to both learn from colleagues and share your own knowledge.
• A friendly and patient character, who can escort contractors and visitors across the prison, supporting them to undertake their roles.
• Problem solving skills with an ability to think outside the box.
• Honesty and integrity.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
