Full Job Description

Southwark College, part of NCG, is looking for a dedicated, creative, and enthusiastic Administrator to work with staff and students from our ESOL Faculty.

In this extremely rewarding role, you will work with the Head of Faculty, Curriculum Managers and Lecturers to provide administrative support for the ESOL students.

Your role will be to support students and staff proactively and professionally. This will include diary management of ESOL staff; producing agendas, minutes for ESOL meetings; dealing with ESOL student enquires in person, on the phone and by e-mail; providing administrative support so that ESOL students are enrolled on the correct level of course and co-ordinating ESOL staff rotas for open evenings, enrolments, and exams.

You will work closely with support and curriculum colleagues, parents/carers, and outside professionals to ensure that ESOL students receive the best support possible and achieve the highest outcomes.

The post requires candidates with a strong administrative background, who have experience of working with students in an educational setting. An ability to speak a second language would be advantageous. The learners you will be supporting will be learning English as a second language, they will require support and guidance to be access opportunities and be enrolled on the courses.

To help achieve this, the successful candidate will be working as part of a hardworking, passionate, and supportive team that is committed to providing high quality provision and support and getting the best out of our ESOL learners.

The role will be based in the Adult ESOL and Employability Faculty, at Southwark College and will be managed by the Head of Faculty for Adult ESOL and Employability.

This role would involve the successful candidate working onsite for two full days a week. There is flexibility with the successful candidate as to which days they work.
