Full Job Description

As Estate Caretaking Supervisor you will lead a team of Estate Caretakers who are responsible the cleanliness and maintenance of council owned housing estates. As Supervisor you will organise, direct, and oversee works to maximise output, efficiency and to ensure that tasks are completed, and estates are maintained to the highest standard. You will be accountable for the effective delivery of the team. You will be responsible for ensuring the required quality standards are achieved including health and Safety. You will also assist the Operational Manager in planning, prioritising your team's workloads and allocating tasks and resources to ensure relevant productivity levels are achieved.

You will lead by example by always displaying the Wigan behaviours and support the Operational Manager by actively seeking ways to improve the service we deliver to tenants, suggesting new ways of working and embracing change.

You will have the ability to lead, organise and motivate staff to achieve their potential and operate as a coherent and productive team. You will have good organisational skills, ability to plan and organise work to meet deadlines and the ability to use your own initiative and to think creatively to resolve issues.
