Full Job Description
To be professionally and technically responsible for estates maintenance issues (engineering and building).
To understand, plan and organize the complex activities; and programme the general working of the hospitals Estates Department, so that work can be carried out in the most efficient manner.
To manage the ordering and procurement of supplies/suppliers ensuring best value at all times, in accordance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
To manage all designated Maintenance Staff within the Estates department.
Action and validate timesheets, call-out sheets, holiday request forms and general personnel issues.
Manage and monitor all maintenance contracts.
Manage and monitor contractors required for ad-hoc call-outs and minor refurbishment work., To have responsibility for health, safety and welfare of self and others and to comply at all times with the requirements of Health & Safety Regulations

To ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity.

Ability to evaluate existing functions and recommend improvements or changes.
