Full Job Description

  • Work with the Estates Manager to manage our portfolio of freehold and leasehold properties dealing with acquisitions, disposals and lease events.

  • Working to tight deadlines they will ensure effective cross functional working at all levels throughout the organisation.

  • As part of the work you undertake, you will help us comply with the Charities Act and Charity Commission guidelines, for which Mencap's Trustees require evidence that due diligence is carried on all property transactions. This role will lead with the preparation of such evidence to the satisfaction of the Head of Property, Executive Directors, Board of Trustees, Trustee Committees and Pension Fund Trustees.

  • Speak positively and enthusiastically about Mencap, the Property team and the Finance Directorate to ensure a professional service image and service delivery is established and maintained.

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of Mencap's mission, vision and values and set an example for the delivery of these in the things that they say and do.

  • Agree with the Estates Manager the regular reports that are required, taking responsibility for collating this information and producing reports and presentations in a format that is suitable for the audience they are intended for within the agreed timescale.

  • Maintain and distribute any information in accordance with data protection legislation and Mencap policy requirements., providing high-quality, flexible services that allow people to live as independently as possible in a place they choose

    Do you have experience in nationwide, multi-site property portfolios, ideally in care homes, supported living properties, shops or offices? Have you led successful complex projects? If the answer to any of the above is 'yes', then we want to hear from you!, Mencap are currently looking for an experienced Estates Surveyor to join their team. This role is a full-time, 12 month contract which will be home-based with travel across the UK as required. This currently is a few times a month but could be more if/when there is a need. To be considered for this position you must be a chartered commercial property surveyor with a BSC in Estate Management and ideally have a minimum of 5 years PQE.
