As an Estates Surveyor, you'll be involved in a wide variety of surveying work, providing professional property expertise across all aspects of our business. Applying your skills as a surveyor, you'll work collaboratively within project teams helping to deliver a nationwide £5.4 billion programme of capital flood defence work that will protect 336,000 properties. You'll be involved at all stages of project delivery from feasibility through to completion. Your expertise will also be applied to the management of a diverse land and property portfolio, including commercial and rural property management, valuation and dealing with landlord and tenant issues. As a confident negotiator, you'll represent our interests with a broad customer and client base. With an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and best practice, you'll provide strong technical guidance and support to other members of your team. We'll also support you to develop both personally and professionally. Responding to incidents is an important part of what we do, and with this in mind you'll have an incident role and should be ready to make yourself available to respond or provide business continuity support. The team The Estates Team sits within the larger Corporate & National Services directorate. You can read more about the directorate in the Additional Information pack. The Estates service extends to 130 people, offering professional support for Environment Agency land, property, compensation and valuation matters. We are core to the delivery of the Agency's £5.2 billion capital programme to better protect 336,000 homes., A full UK driving licence is essential to travel to sites and offices across our hubs, some of which are inaccessible by public transport. You'll be provided with a vehicle to carry out this work. You will need to attend your hub office for events like induction, training, team meetings, and collaborations. This aligns with our people strategy. Role specific professional membership requirements You'll be a fellow of the CAAV (FAAV) or be qualified as a chartered surveyor (MRICS/FRICS), ideally in Land and Resources, Commercial or Rural.
