EU Customs Operator

Pay Rate: £23,000 starting + Shift Premium. Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: Monday to Friday with the ability to work on Saturday & Sunday when requested covering hours between 06:00-20:00. Location: Birmingham - B24 9HY Basic Criminal Record check required. DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a EU Customs Operator to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL? As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• This is a Key Role within the LLP. Within the role, you will be dealing with internal teams such as EU Operations, UK Planning, EU tracking teams, MIS Data Team and Carrier Procurement. You will also have the opportunity to work with the DHL Global Forwarding Team, the JLR Customs Team, JLR Inbound Freight and MP&L Teams. Alongside this, you will be working with multiple EU Carriers & UK & EU Vendors.
• Ensuring all documentation is archived & kept in the relevant online folders to refer back to should there be any future queries from JLR, Customs Control, HMRC or other customs bodies.
• Checking the relevant mailboxes to ensure all mails are dealt with, recorded on the appropriate tracking sheets & filed away.
• The Customs Data Operators will be responsible for ensuring that as soon as collection has taken place, all paperwork is received from the vendor, processed by us, the DGF & GFS Teams & handed over to the relevant carrier contacts in a timely & organised manner. This is to ensure that all shipments can cross & be delivered on time, to make sure there are no risks to production.

• Admin Experience - desirable.
• Customs Experience - desirable but not essential, can be taught on the job.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word & Excel.
• Geographical knowledge of UK & Europe - not essential, desirable.
