EU Operations Supervisor

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking an EU Operations Supervisor to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

• Operational Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact in the North West for any operational issues for MP&L and senior managers at Halewood, representing the EU team at shift meetings, contingency meetings, and addressing on-site health and safety issues.
• Team Management: Oversee the Tracking and Returns Teams at Halewood, which operate 24 hours from Monday 6am to Saturday 6am, and coordinate any late deliveries into the North West and LOC that might impact production.
• Production Support: Collaborate with MP&L to understand stock out times, organize special transport as required to ensure production is not affected, and manage the day-to-day operation of the Reverse Logistics Plan to ensure timely return of packaging to the vendor base.
• Cost and Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in the Reverse Logistics Plan to reduce costs, accommodate weekend working and overtime, and avoid build-up of empties that could impact production at suppliers, contributing to the cost-down target., We will ensure that all our resourcing activities are fair, transparent and consistent across the UK. • Full understanding of end to end Supply Chain and the impact of any service level failures and cost penalties associated with them.
• Experience of people management and development. Succession Planning so no impact to Service Level as a result of staff promotion / loss
• Experience of Cross docking operations in Europe - by carrier base and understanding of European Transport Legislation - i.e. Driving Bans and Au Holiday effects
