Full Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a European Design Manager to support the sales process with innovative design tuned to the detailed needs of one of our strategic FMCG customers.
Your remit will include but not limited to:
First point of contact for customer for paper/corrugated packaging related requests such as New Product Development, Innovation and improvements;
Developing and implementing technical Continuous Improvement initiatives to support the delivery against the agreed productivity targets;
Facilitator of best practice sharing for packaging solutions and box designs between the regions; ensuring a consistent way of working to deliver operational efficiency and daily customer delight;
Supporting the Senior European Design Manager to further develop the technical and innovation roadmap for our strategic accounts;
Ensuring the full use of DS Smith tools across the network such as Value Tool, Circular Design Metrics, Playbook etc.

Previous experience as a Packaging engineer or similar role
Experience in the corrugated and cardboard packaging industry preferred
Excellent Project Management skills, as well as presenting skills and a customer centric way of working across different cultural backgrounds.
Passionate and enthusiastic, excited to inspire customers with new packaging opportunities
Strong communicator and networker
Pragmatic, well organised, results-driven, self-starter
Experience of working in an international matrix organisation
Flexibility to travel across Europe to meet internal and external stakeholders for project related topics.
