Full Job Description

Job Purpose The EV Plant Quality Lead is responsible for developing, administering and executing programs to drive quality improvement and customer satisfaction and leading those initiatives to successful conclusions. Improving product and process quality to drive improvements in FTT, Scrap, COPQ and managing and resolving customer and supplier related issues. There is a high requirement for shop floor presence, and they must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects, being detailed and thorough, working independently and within a team and communicating successfully at all levels. What you need to qualify for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, quality management systems or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification and previous experience with Quality Assurance requirements preferred
  • Knowledgeable in Quality Assurance/Engineering disciplines
  • Understanding and experience of internal auditing and layered process auditing
  • Self-directed, with demonstrated planning/problem solving skills
  • Must have excellent people skills and ability to work with individuals at many levels
  • Be able to work positively in a team
  • A good knowledge of computer systems
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint specifically
  • 2+ years of experience in automotive industry
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive)
  • Experience of Zeiss Calypso software and CMM operation / programming preferred
  • Job Duties and Responsibilities - Adhering & promoting Dana Life Safety Rules, (LSR's) - Adhering & promoting Dana Life Quality Rules, (LQR's) - Lead EV plant DOS activities in relation to Quality requirements including auditing, actions, timing, responsibility and KPI adherence - Lead and own Quality Improvement initiatives in identifying potential vehicle assembly Quality issues and recommend corrective action on QC and QA issues, using corrective action techniques (8D, 5 Why, PDCA etc.) working with the SQA Engineer and customer where required. - Lead scrap reduction reviews and resulting actions to impact Cost Of Poor Quality / FTT improvements - Contribute to/lead special projects as required or assigned in line with business objectives - Supporting the Quality Manager in participation / leading for Quality function at Diamond and accountability board meetings - Provides detailed statistical analysis of service processes and suggests changes as required - Monitor inspection and prepare reports and recommend actions to chronic issues - Interface with manufacturing, process and product engineering to support quality and general initiatives protect product design intent and function and assist in the development of solutions to manufacturing constraints - Explore production, quality, and customer concerns, using practical problem-solving reports and other advanced problem solving techniques (Shainin / RedX, DMAIC, Kaizen, 8D) - Collect data as required, pareto top concerns, identify and report on the root causes with supportive data, and recommend solutions to manufacturing operations and/or product engineering to correct the problem - Adhere to, apply when required and endorse use of Stop/Call/Fix - Fast Response Board completion participation / completion of confirmed Dana liability concerns - Manage and control any containment activities internally and externally as and when required - Manage on site 3rd party inspection company, work prioritization, output quality, value for money and professional conduct - Directly communicate with suppliers and customers on internal / customer quality issues where required - Make studies and recommendations for future product improvements - Work on solving production quality issues on Assembly line - Work on root cause/troubleshooting of quality issues/warranty issues - Work in performing line audits, end of line audits, LPA and Control Plan audits, Reverse FMEA activities - Work on continuous improvement of quality systems Education Associates or Bachelor's Degree (preference).
