Events Manager (Maternity Cover) - Whitechapel, We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and resourceful Events Manager to join the marketing team at Dishoom. This role is a maternity cover position and will be based at our HQ in Shoreditch, London. They will be responsible for the delivery, design and execution of a broad range of both guest-facing and team events, reporting into the Senior Events Manager and working alongside one other Events Manager - in a team of three. The scope of these events ranges from small breakfast talks, to large festival-style green field events.,
- Delivery of the Dishoom calendar of events calendar, from intimate experiences to large scale green-field activations
- Working closely with the Dishoom marketing team to execute an annual programme of events that supports the overall strategy
- Working alongside the wider marketing team to support on in-cafe and regional events
- Liaising with the Dishoom operational team on events requirements - especially food and drink offering
- Managing various aspects associated with external and team events, such as site visits, venue research, production schedules, health and safety documentation, and logistics
- Be a key contact for suppliers and stakeholders in your project areas, managing relationships, sourcing quotes, negotiating contracts, ensuring advance work meets project deadlines and managing delivery onsite
- Working within the team to prepare pitch decks and post-event evaluations
- Briefing the in-house creative team on assets needed for events - from invitations to signage
- Preparing invoices and logging payment and processing, helping all events stay on budget
- Being 'hands on' at events - solving problems as they arrive, making sure running orders are clear and tight, and delivering from set up to finish
Ideally 3+year's events experience, ideally within food/drink/hospitality industry - Previous experience of managing a broad range of events including pop-up street food style events, festivals, product launches, seated dinners and tours.
- Excellent planning & management - able to prioritise deadlines and work effectively to timelines
- Experience of managing budgets, invoices and quotes
- Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and stay cool under pressure
- Methodical, organised, with a keen eye for detail
- Strong command of English with a high level of interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
- Comfortable and confident managing both internal and external stakeholders
- Practical, level-headed, and hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Excellent computer skills - especially PowerPoint, Excel and GSuite
- Someone with creative flair for design and event d cor
- Big hearted, helpful and able to be part of a team - a great collaborator
- A knowledge of South Asian history and culture would be beneficial - or a willingness to learn if there's little prior knowledge
Salary is dependent on experience. Maternity cover is for 12 months - dependant on start date in the role.
