Marsh McLennan (MMC) Marketing and Communications, which covers Marsh and Mercer, is looking for an experienced, organised and enthusiastic Events Marketing Specialist to join our team to help deliver flawless events as part of our wider marketing campaign strategy.

The role holder will be responsible for the management and delivery of a variety of primarily UK client and internal events ranging from seminars, webinars, sponsorships, round tables, corporate hospitality, conferences, networking events and dinners in our offices and externally.

Reporting to the UK Events Head, you will work on the delivery of events to execute the UK marketing strategy and promote the Marsh McLennan brand.

You will work collaboratively with the wider MMC Marketing and Communications team to ensure smooth delivery of all aspects of our events.

The Marketing team is aligned with the business and works in partnership with our client and sales teams in the development and activation of our marketing strategy.

The Events Marketing Specialist role sits within the Events Global Centre of Excellence but will primarily provide support for UK events.

Events will be primarily UK based by there may be the occasional opportunity to work on global events as part of the Events Centre of Excellence, End to end management of UK in-person and virtual events as part of our wider marketing campaign strategy. This includes :

Establishing aims, objectives and requirements for events.

Venue sourcing and proposal writing.

Working with the Marketing team to produce attendee lists and event invitations.

Building registration sites and managing attendees using Cvent.

Ownership of individual events budgets and invoicing.

Liasing with stakeholders and the wider Marketing team to deliver all aspects of the event e.g. agenda development, sourcing and briefing speakers, producing event collateral, merchandise, social media, websites and follow up plans.

Management of vendor relationships and negotiation.

Organisation of logistics such as booking catering and AV.

Attendance at events to ensure they run smoothly.

Post-event follow-up and measurement of return on investment in conjunction with the Marketing team.

Day to day management of centrally owned tennis, rugby and golf corporate hospitality assets.

Providing advisory services to the business areas to ensure events best practice, efficient delivery and consistency of approach across all events even if not centrally managed.

Supporting the UK Events Head and Events Marketing Senior Manager with larger UK events.

Solid experience of event management experience across a range of UK events.

Previous events management experience in a professional or financial services environment.

Educated to degree level or equivalent preferred.

Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Experience of using client relationship management systems e.g. MS Dynamics.

A good working knowledge of event venues in London and the wider UK.

Knowledge of managing corporate hospitality assets preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to review and draft event materials such as invitations, emails and speaker briefings.

Good relationship building and stakeholder management skills including the ability to guide decision making, when appropriate.

Strong project management skills and able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines and strong attention to detail.

Team-oriented and a highly motivated self-starter with a proven record of collaboration.

Calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

A focus on being creative, proactive and solutions orientated.

Flexibility to work outside normal office hours and travel for events within the UK on occasion.
