Help us create a world in which LGBTQI people everywhere can live their lives openly and fully, free from discrimination, fear and violence. Applications close at a.m. Wednesdayrd October. Location : Central London, UK (currently two days per week in the office) Who we are GiveOut is an award-winning international community foundation, with the mission to grow giving to support the global struggle for LGBTQI human rights. We advocate for more funding to benefit LGBTQI causes globally, fundraise to foster more giving by the LGBTQI community and our allies, and pool donations to provide grants and other support to LGBTQI organisations worldwide, to build a world where LGBTQI people everywhere can live their lives freely and fully. Since our launch in, GiveOut has channelled almost £3 million in new funding to more than LGBTQI organisations across six continents. This has contributed to life-changing and sometimes life-saving work, with safe houses and community centres built in some of the
hardest places to be LGBTQI, discriminatory laws overturned, cutting edge research and successful campaigns for inclusion, and vital support for LGBTQI people during crises. In the face of a well-resourced and effective anti-rights movement, and a roll back of LGBTQI rights in some contexts, GiveOuts work is more relevant than ever. About the role We now seek a new Executive Director to build on the success and impact so far and reach new heights. You will lead GiveOut in fulfilling our ambitious five-year strategy to advocate for more funding to benefit LGBTQI communities and - by - to be fundraising £2.4 million annually and providing grants totalling £1.7 million to support LGBTQI organisations in securing more progress for LGBTQI rights and equality around the world. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will serve as the chief executive officer of GiveOut, responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the charity, with a current team of seven
and annual budget of £1.25 million. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our impact, expanding our donor base, and ensuring the effective delivery of our mission. Who are we looking for? This leadership role requires a dynamic individual with a commitment to LGBTQI human rights, exceptional strategic thinking, and proven experience and success in philanthropy and fundraising, working with individual philanthropists and corporate donors. You will possess significant experience in developing strategies to diversify income streams and launching initiatives in new regions. We seek someone who can demonstrate the highest ethical standards, integrity, and the ability to foster trust and credibility. Crucially, we need someone with strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with diverse stakeholders and proven experience in nonprofit leadership and scaling organisations. You will thrive in dynamic environments, understand the political and economic landscape,
and be capable of executing long-term strategic plans. Experience in working with nonprofit boards, knowledge of governance and compliance, and a track record of leading high-performing teams are essential. Additionally, you will be skilled in public speaking, media engagement, and representing the organisation at high-profile events. While our expectation is that nonprofit experience is essential to this role, we are open to considering other profiles if you can clearly articulate your commitment and how your skills and experiences make you well suited for this role.
